MUMBAI: Bollywood star and IPL Kolkata Knight Riders franchise owner Shah Rukh Khan was called by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning last Saturday. Sources informed that Khan walked into the ED premises in Mumbai on November 5 at around 12.30 noon and walked out after six hours of grilling.

The ED questioning revolves around Khan’s investments in the Indian Premier League and the franchise he bought in January 2008 for US$ 75.09m for a period of ten years.

Both, ED officials and Khan, remained unavailable for comment. The IPL has been seeped in controversy after its former boss Lalit Modi was shunted out by the BCCI and a couple of franchise came under the scanner for offshore and benami investments. The details of Saturday’s ED questioning aren’t known yet.
