Patna: The Nitish Kumar government on Thursday approved the Bihar Lokayukta Bill, 2011 to pave the way for tabling it in the winter session of the state legislature beginning tomorrow.
The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting presided over by the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Principal Secretary (Cabinet Coordination and Secretariat), Ravikant told reporters.
The state government had last month drafted the bill bringing the chief minister among others under its purview and invited suggestions for fine tuning the proposed legislation by a three-member ministerial committee headed by the Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi.
