Biography:
Kalykbek Sadykovich Salykov (Kazakh: Калыкбек Садыкович Салыков; born in 26 August 1954; Alma-Ata) is a Soviet and Kazakh film director. He is considered one of the pioneers of the Kazakh New Wave.
Graduated from the directing department of the Alma-Ata State Theater Art Institute (1980), Alma-Ata Conservatory (1980). He worked at the Shymkent Regional Drama Theater (1980-1981). In cinema since 1981.
