Directed by David Dhawan
‘Rascals’ is yet another from the David Dhawan style which includes humour, good laughs, women in minimal clothing and rhyming one-liners which are usually insults.
The film features conmen Chetan (Sanjay Dutt) and Bhagat (Ajay Devgn) in one upmanship game to win Khushi (Kangna Ranaut), a girl with all physical assets and a millionaire without a cause. They don’t know what they want more – her body or her money. Khushi keeps signing cheques worth crores of rupees and her perfectly toned body instantly draw our despicable duo towards her.
They try every prank to win Khushi’s attention and interest and to ridicule each other. The viewers never really bothers which hero would actually win the heroine in the end. And there are some small surprise in the climax. Rascals is all about silly and stupid comedy.
Humour in the film is loud and commotional with Ajay Devgn’s screaming most of the time. Sanjay Dutt comedy is better in comparison with all the funnier lines and scenes. Kangana Ranaut is much like a battery-operated doll. Lisa Haydon is in the film to look hot and she does a fair job at it. Hiten Paintel is used as an add-on and his presence in the film is immaterial. Satish Kaushik attempts to induce few laughs with his gags and gibberish brand comedy. Bharti Achrekar gets no scope. Chunky Pandey overacts. Arjun Rampal has pretty much nothing to do.
